In my current and last HKU-BO-BK block of this year, I am working with masking tape. Accidentally, because I was not looking for it. It just happened.
Now I’m attached to it. I do seem to be glued to this material. I can’t get away from it until I’ve pulled out all the stops to discover the characteristics of masking tape. I was not waiting for that at all. I wanted to make urgent or beautiful art. Now I am just experimenting with a painters material. ‘I just do something.’ What does this yield? Does it make sense to my loved ones? What message do I bring to other citizens, when I am messing around with masking tape?
Still I believe that the best discoveries are made when I let go of everything.
